Thanks to this person and their posts, I’ve come to realize I may have done something fairly insensitive.

By using the term “true asexual” I meant to address the core definition of the word (as in, absolutely no sexuality and libido), but I did not realize that by tagging “true” before it could mean that there are such things as “fake asexuals”.

This was in no way my intent, so if I offended anyone with that I am truly sorry! I was putting an emphasis on the fact that the term “asexual” has started to transform into an umbrella term, and it makes it increasingly difficult to address asexuals that have absolutely no sex drive, whatsoever. That’s the entire reason why I found it silly in the first place to start making it an umbrella term, because there is no term for what you would call someone with absolutely no sex drive at all, whether alone or with a partner. Especially since the word “asexual” itself means “without sexuality”.

However, there are words for people who are very close to being asexual. All the terms under the gray-A umbrella! No one is “better” than anyone else when it comes to sexuality, it’s just a label. Personally, I find it silly to see some asexuals say how superior they are because they don’t like “icky sex”, and also silly to see sexuals claim asexuality doesn’t exist, and that asexuals are sexuals that just want to be “better” than everyone else.

If you follow me, you know I couldn’t give two fucks about labels like this even if I tried. No one’s better, no one’s worse; people are just people. Not just sexuality, but race, gender, even people who prefer certain colors or animals.
