HOMESTUCK AUs
These are my Aus, because a lot of people seem curious about them! Only One Stormy Night has an official fanfic for it, and the others may have art or may just be concepts or plotbunnies I’ve made. Anyone is more than welcome to make fanart or fanfics (why would you do that these are silly) without my permission, but I would certainly love to see them!

One Stormy Night

AO3 Fic
Tag

A world where nomadic humans constantly live in fear of being devoured by ruthless predators - trolls. In this timeless game of cat and mouse, an unlikely friendship is formed between the hunter and the hunted.

Before the Dawn

AO3 series

(AKA Slavestuck) Karkat Vantas would have died sweeps ago if it hadn’t been for his indigo-blooded moirail. Once faced with painful torture and imminent death for his mutated blood, he couldn’t help but sympathize with a pathetic pink alien being auctioned off in a slave trade, doomed for a similar fate.

Dead of Night

AO3 series

In which Karkat is a 16-year-old runaway who dropped out of school, got a job, and somehow sustains himself in a tiny, run-down apartment.

John is a 15-year-old incubus who has to feed off of humans to survive. The two things he requires - euphoria and fear - are things incubi generally take by force (via rape and torture). In an attempt to change his ways, he’s attempted numerous times to starve himself, only to go insane and temporarily lose control of his body; during which, he ends up committing those horrible deeds anyway.

While wandering on his own, he meets Karkat, who offers John his home without a second thought. And later, offers even more to make sure John doesn’t have to suffer anymore…

However, their accomplishments during the Game did not go unnoticed, and they’re welcomed back as saviors - but they soon find out that they aren’t just revered heroes, but feared gods. And over the next few years, things only worsen when they’re forced to become weapons of the military.

Lususstuck

Detailed summary

In which John is a half lusus hybrid (assumed half troll but is actually half human), taking shelter with Karkat, whose own lusus long since died.

Clowstuck

Homestuck in the Cardcaptor Sakura verse, John-centric

Characters

John: Sakura parallel. Uses the staff of Zillyhoo to recapture rampant Clow Cards. Has no problem wearing girls’ clothes, apparently.
Karkat: Kero parallel - Guardian beast of the seal with a foul mouth. Looks like a little black, horned cat plushie. Hated John’s guts in the beginning, but now has a possible unrequited crush on him.
Dave: Tomoyo parallel. Makes flashy costumes for John and video tapes him for ironic purposes. Also has an unrequited crush on John.
Kanaya: Yue parallel, but much nicer, if not completely lacking in the street-smarts department. Unlike Yue, her temporary form does not develop a separate personality; she merely regains her memories after the Final Judgement. May have a crush on Rose, and gets a little too into Dave’s costumes for John.
Rose: Syaoran parallel, but takes to John almost instantly. Calm, cool and collected, she was sent to outdo John in capturing the Clow Cards, but she readily helps him. May have feelings for John, or Kanaya.
Jake: Eriol parallel, but not quite as calm and composed. Once his power is split between himself and Dad, he stays in town and eventually falls for Dirk.
Equius: Ruby Moon parallel. Isn’t fond of the old Guardians at first. As in canon, is almost inseparable with Nepeta.
Nepeta: Spinel Sun parallel. Immediately gets a crush on Karkat, which makes it hard for her to “fight” him.
Lord English: Clow parallel; but LE isn’t an evil character this time. After all, Clow went by many names!
Jane: John’s cousin and classmate. Ends up being on the butt end of The Sweet’s jokes when she bakes.
Dirk: Dave’s brother, as well as him and John’s classmate. Becomes possessed by The Sword before John saves him with the help of Dave and Rose.
Roxy: Rose’s cousin who comes to check up on her when she does not return with the Clow Cards. Though she’s often inebriated, she’s a skilled with low level magic and guns.
Jade: Touya parallel (though she does not fall for Kanaya). John’s big sister who goes to the high school next to John’s school. Like Touya, she’s constantly wary of Karkat and becomes aware of what John is caught up in, though she ends up telling him she knows. She doesn’t like Karkat for pulling John into all this, and they banter frequently.

In the past, Clow attempted to create another set of Guardians using an experimental form of magic; it was much more powerful, but Clow later learns it’s also much darker and more dangerous. Unfortunately, he only learns this after the Guardians were created, and they escaped before he could dispose of them. They fall asleep and are eventually re-awakened once Kanaya regains her memories, and they go to find John in order to find Karkat and Kanaya, both with mixed emotions of kinship, rage, and jealousy. They attempt to get rid of them, but are eventually calmed by John’s new magic.
Gamzee: Dark Sun Guardian. Eventually bonds with Karkat for being a fellow Sun Guardian.
Eridan: Dark Moon Guardian. Gets an unrequited crush on Feferi, who is also made with moon magic.

In this AU, the four elemental cards and the light/dark cards are of the same power level. They’re considered the six high arcana, and are the only cards able to speak human language, as well as home a more developed personality. They are made with the same magic the Guardians are made of. As such, until the Guardians regain their full power, the high arcane cards can be used for their magic, but John is unable to call forth their corporeal/human forms. They only become active characters once John masters all the Clow Cards.
Tavros: Windy Card. The first card John obtains.
Feferi: Watery Card.
Sollux: Fiery Card.
Aradia: Earthy Card.
Vriska: Light Card. Since she hid herself in John’s heart, she took a liking to him, and ended up with an unrequited crush for a while before moving on. Though she’s The Light, her demeanor is more dark.
Terezi: Dark Card. Though they quarrel often for being opposites, she’s nearly inseparable from Vriska. Like her “sister”, she has a more light demeanor despite her title.

Shotastuck

Tag

Simply something where any of the characters are underage, paired with an older partner. But there are a few specific ones I’ve created…

Shotastuck-Karkat: Where Karkat is around 10, and lives alone, or with neglectful/abusive parents in an apartment complex. John and Dave live next door and are in college. John readily takes the role of protective big brother to the foul-mouthed little troll after seeing how lonely he is. Karkat takes a while to warm up to him, but eventually ends up staying at John’s apartment more than his own. Karkat develops a very obvious, unrequited crush on John, and John is just too oblivious to notice.

Shotastuck-John: Where ~10 year old John is found by Karkat in a troll city, orphaned and alone, living on the streets since trolls don’t care to help out a fleshy human. Karkat reluctantly adopts John because of how Karkat was treated for his blood color when he was young (living off the streets himself for most of his youth). John starts out as a mute, and is quite shy, but warms up to Karkat and eventually starts talking. Karkat is more of a protective paternal figure, and doesn’t have a crush on John. John however, might have some feelings for Karkat.

Disgaeastuck

Tag

Though there is a version of Disgaeastuck that makes the parallels (Laharl = Karkat) (Flonne = John) (Etna = Terezi), the specific verse I made is different:

Setting

(Similar to Disgaea) A world in which three worlds live side by side – Celestia, Earth, and the Netherworld. Celestia receives power from Earth via awe energy, sending thoughts of good will (and sometimes messengers) to help keep humans on the right path and away from destruction. Even with their bad rep, the Netherworld has the same noble task, getting their energy through fear. Since fearful humans worry about dying and going to a place with such scary demons, the very different method of keeping humans in line has the same outcome as Celestia’s duty. Both awe and fear are used for the benefit of mankind, and for the benefit each respective world as well.
However, none of the inhabitants of the three worlds get along very well. Not many humans know of demons and angels, and the demons and angels have a rivalry – awe decreased fear, and fear decreased awe. They forever fight for majority, though they do know once the balance is tipped, everything crumbles; so it’s not as if one is looking for total domination.
Humans are also looked down upon as a lower species. They’re not hated, but angels think of them almost as impure as demons, and demons find them weak and annoying. Humans are sort of like the younger sibling nobody wants but has to take care of and co-exist with. (It’s often a conflicting emotion too, since without humans, demons and angels wouldn’t be able to survive)
As such, half-breeds are very rare and often ridiculed and outcast. If they are powerful enough, they can earn enough respect to gain full demon or angel titles, but their origins will forever haunt them.

Angels

Angels all have white skin (ranging from pure to cool/warm off white), and light-colored hair (anything from white to blonde to pink to gray) and light-colored or vibrant eyes. Some may have light feathers or fur adorning their skin. All have feathery white wings, but halos are worn only by certain powerful classes. Most (but not all) of their clothing incorporate a cross design.
Angels have blood similar to demons; all colors of the hemospectrum, and the caste itself is nearly nonexistant and really only used as a vague insight as to what abilities an angel may have.

Demons

All humanoid demons have dark skin, mostly gray but sometimes vary slightly to warm and cool grays. Eye color can be nearly anything, but are almost never dull colors. Hair color varies with blacks. All have leathery, dark wings, and some have tails. All have candycorn horns, pointed ears, sharp teeth, and claws (trolls, essentially). The blood caste remains, but it’s not as prominent as it’s been in the Netherworld’s past; lowbloods are no longer culled, and only very faint lingering prejudice remains.
Many demons choose to incorporate their blood color in the design of their clothes like their ancestors did, but not everyone does since the caste system is barely there anymore.

Monsters

Just like on Earth, Celestia and the Netherworld is home to humanoids and animals alike. However, “animals” or “monsters” are often sentient like the humanoids. Many powerful humanoids are said to have “monster” forms as well.
There are half breeds and mingling with monsters with both angels and demons. While they are considered below pure humanoids, they aren’t exactly looked down upon and can be quite powerful.

Characters

John is an angel-human half breed. His origins are plainly visible with his pink skin and black hair. His wings are a little on the small side (though certainly not the smallest), and at 13 he still has a lot of down on them. He’s often picked on by other Angel trainees, and is subject to prejudice even from Archangels. Only his mother (a very powerful wind mage) and half-sister Jade (who is a full angel, but a trainee as well) seem to truly care about him. Despite his hard life, he’s very optimistic and quick to see the good in everyone. It’s really pretty sickening.
John’s angel mother dies from causes unknown. Overwhelmed by sadness, he becomes convinced that the only way to ease his pain is to find his human father on Earth. Sneaking out by himself, he uses a dimensional gate on his own – and obviously fucks up big time, since only Archangels can successfully use them. He falls in the Netherworld; and not only as an angel, but also a human half-breed, he’s immediately met with deadly hostility. Only with Karkat’s help does he save his own ass.

Karkat is a quarter human. He lucked out, and only has human red colored blood, so he can often hide his origins unless he gets wounded. He outwardly hates the fact his blood is “tainted”, goes on about how much he hates humans, but in actuality he feels that he isn’t tainted at all. He actually has two mothers (since angels and demons are much like trolls in that aspect), and the one that is half human is very much respected for being a powerful warrior. To Karkat, the only thing human blood changed in his mother is her ability to express compassion. And even though Karkat only has a quarter of human DNA, he has the capability to love in the same way – he feels much more than the average demon, but since anything close to love and compassion is considered a weakness, he overcompensates with constant swearing and insults.
He wears his blood color on his clothing, both proud and terrified about the decision. Only demons in his hometown knows it’s his blood color, but all it takes is one scuffle for his identity to be blown.

Dave is a Defender of Earth (well, in training), who jumped the gun just a little bit by deciding he’d get better training if he was in the field. Since humans are oblivious to the fact that both demons and angels work to ensure balance between the three worlds, demons are considered “pure evil” and are creatures that need to be killed. Dave soon finds himself trapped after one of Earth’s manmade dimensional gates malfunction. John takes to him almost instantaneously, finding it so totally awesome that he’s a Defender (Dave often leaves out “trainee”), and that he’s human but he’s like a superhero. Karkat on the other hand just finds him irritating with his prejudice views on demons.

Jade is John’s half sister, and a full angel trainee. Being brought up by her open-minded mother, she’s very passionate about equality between the three races. Karkat still pisses her off pretty easy, though. (those are all the characters I immediately thought of!)

stfu I like nagas and shit and things so I just had to make a tag for it. No story or anything attached.

Minestuck

Based on the game Minecraft

Plot
A young human miner, John works most of his days in his family’s mine. He actually likes the job and is very good for his age, and while decent at fighting with a sword, monsters spawning underground are always a problem. As a diligent miner, he’s kept his work area well lit to keep them to a minimum.
However, the most powerful enemy can still use a weird magic to teleport in if they so wished; the Endertrolls. A terrifying race shrouded in mystery said to have the intelligence rivaling that of humans, Endertrolls are only hostile when you look into their glowing violet eyes; but the amount of people who have done so and survived could be count on one hand, and have been immortalized as legends. Killing one, and even surviving an attack from one is so unheard of, obtaining the heart of one (an Ender Pearl) can literally make you a king. This has both kept people in their homes out of fear, and persuaded many warriors to hunt them down. No one knows where they come from, how or where they live, or even what their purpose is. They simply seem to wander, and strive to kill anything that is bold enough to look them in the eyes. Though fairly rare, they are by far the most fears of creatures.
One day, John has the unfortunate luck of having an Endertroll find its way into his mine. Determined not to let the creature drive him from his only source of income, he continues to work, albeit terrified. As long as he doesn’t look straight at it, it won’t attack him.
Weeks pass and day by day, the Endertroll continues to visit frequently. Through the course of many nervous encounters, John is surprised to learn they not only understand, but can replicate human speech, even if the words are eerie and echo.
Impossibly, John befriends the Endertroll, apparently named Karkat. And slowly, John learns that perhaps sharing an Endertroll’s gaze isn’t as deadly as he once thought…

Plotbunny #1

Detailed summary

In which John is Mephistopheles, and Karkat is the young human boy who catches his attention.

Plotbunny #2

ok I saw someone in the Johnkat tag liken John to Spongebob and Karkat to Squidward and it sort of hurts how close that is (not perfect, but close)

and I want to see an AU where John is this overly enthusiastic new high school graduate and Karkat is this apathetic punk-rockish college dropout and they both have to work at Walmart or something

and Karkat spends his days begging his manager to fire him or help him hang himself in the men’s bathroom because John won’t shut up holy shit he is the world’s most annoying chatterbox and he won’t leave me the fuck alone but he has to suck it up most the time and attempt to smile for the customers when he’s seething with rage on the inside so much he will probably die of a heart attack at age 25.

but John just adores Karkat cause he’s senpai he’s been working here for years and Karkat has to constantly remind him that is not an accomplishment worthy of adoration
